In Memoriam - Fraser Skells (1965-2026)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fraser Skells at the age of 60. Fraser was always there for the company, his colleagues, his clients, and everyone around him, both professionally and personally. With heart, soul, and a great sense of humour, he dedicated himself day and night, even while struggling with illness in recent years.

Fraser joined Lubbe & Sons (UK) in 1987 at the age of 21, starting as an assistant in the flower bulb packing season. Over the years, he developed into one of the cornerstones of our UK operations, becoming responsible for all aspects of the business: from client contact and site visits to project monitoring and shipment coordination. Thanks to his dedication, knowledge, and vision, the company in the UK is now strong and healthy. His love for flower bulbs and perennials was also reflected in his hobby: growing peonies for cut flowers.

In recent years, he worked alongside his son Edward, who shares his father’s passion and enthusiasm.

Fraser was not only dedicated to the company but also to his family. He was a loving partner and father who inspired and supported his family.

Fraser was discerning, warm, expert, and committed, a colleague, friend, and mentor who will be deeply missed. His legacy lives on in Lubbe Lisse, Lubbe & Sons (UK), and everyone who worked with him.

For us as a family business, this is a great loss: Fraser was the heart of Lubbe & Sons in the UK, and its success is largely thanks to him.
