SuDs Mix has been developed for wet banks and swales, it provides a colourful flowering display from February to June. The combination of different spring-flowering species  from early purple tones, to whites and yellows, finishing the season with purple flowers once again. In this way, the mixture contributes to an attractive environment as well as the natural function of swales and water-retention areas.

Location and soil

SuDs Mix performs best in fertile, moist and well-drained soil, in full sun or partial shade. The soil may be moist, but water must be able to drain away sufficiently. For good bulb development, we recommend planting before the end of December. Suitable soil and good management together form the basis for healthy and long-lasting flowering.

Application

This mix is well suited to swales, nature-friendly banks and other locations where water and greenery come together. The mixture brings colour to these often functional public spaces from early spring onwards and compliments a natural landscape design. The flowers also provide food for early pollinators, while the planting makes the surroundings more attractive for both people and nature. In this way, a functional water-retention area becomes part of a green and biodiverse living environment.
