Making spring visible in the city
How can you make a park really stand out in spring?
In Alkmaar, we worked with the Municipality of Alkmaar and Stadswerk072 to create a flower bulb planting concept that temporarily transforms public space into a place where people naturally stop and take a moment.
At the Kwerenbolwerk, which is normally used as a route through the city, we created an eye-catching flower bulb planting that attracts visitors, invites people to take photos and makes spring visible in the city.
With this project, we show what flower bulbs can bring to public space: not just colour, but also a seasonal experience.
A place that changes the way people see it
During the flowering period, the atmosphere at the Kwerenbolwerk changes immediately.
Visitors stop, take photos and experience the location differently from the rest of the year. What is normally a functional route temporarily becomes a place that attracts attention and adds colour and seasonal interest to the city.
