Naturally Flowering at Verheulsweide Business Park

From intensively maintained grass to flowering green space

At Verheulsweide Business Park in Doetinchem, several partners are working together to create a greener and more attractive working environment.

As part of the Werklandschappen van de Toekomst programme, the project looked at how existing spaces could be used more effectively for nature, climate and a pleasant working environment.

For this project, we worked with Donker Groen Doetinchem, contributing our expertise in flower bulbs and wildflowers.

More colour and variety

The Naturally Flowering concept was introduced on an area that had previously been intensively maintained as grass.

A long-flowering flower bulb mixture was combined with a native, perennial wildflower mixture.

Following the preparatory work by Donker Groen, we planted the flower bulbs and sowed the wildflower mixture. Throughout spring and summer, the area developed into a colourful and varied planting scheme.

A greener working environment

The new planting brings more colour and variety to the business park. Employees and visitors now see an environment that changes throughout the season and provides space for a variety of plants and insects.

An existing green space has therefore been given a new purpose, helping to create a more attractive working environment.
