In Houten, we worked with the Municipality of Houten to create a planting scheme using the Lange Lente mixture. The mixture was planted along a walking route in a park, close to a playground. This makes the planting part of a place where people walk, play and spend time outdoors every day.
Lange Lente is a long-flowering mixture containing daffodils, Camassia, alliums and irises. The different species flower one after another and vary in height, creating a planting scheme that changes throughout spring.
For walkers, this means the same route looks slightly different each time they pass. For children playing in the playground, the flowers create a colourful setting to explore and enjoy.
Colourful public space can make a daily walk even more enjoyable. The flowering planting brings spring directly to the route and creates a place where people can pause, enjoy their surroundings or spend time outdoors together.
In this way, flower bulbs do more than add colour to a park. They become part of the experience of the place.
Together with the Municipality of Houten, we selected Lange Lente, a mixture that is well suited to use in parks.
The different flowering periods and plant heights create a varied display that fits naturally into a public space where people spend their leisure time and meet others.
Would you like a park, walking route or another public space to change with the seasons?
We would be happy to work with you on a flower bulb concept that suits the location, how it is used and the atmosphere you want to create.
